When Your Contract Gets COVID-19
This hour-long webinar will provide an introduction to the basic contract law principles that apply to the many challenges COVID-19 poses for contract administration and performance. The analytical framework for understanding contract termination and suspension will be outlined, along with the elements that come into play in resolving claims for delay and additional costs.
Presenter Bio: I.H. Fraser:
I.H. Fraser is a Counsel in the Litigation Group at the Department of Justice of the Government of Yukon. After graduating from McGill University (LL.B., 1984), Mr. Fraser entered private practice as a litigation lawyer in Ottawa, Ontario. In 2006, he joined the Department of Justice Canada, where he served for two years as senior counsel. From 2015 to 2017 he was a Lecturer in the School of Law at Charles Darwin University and the Director of its LL.M. Program. Mr. Fraser was certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada (1996-2007). He has served as a mediator, arbitrator, advocacy trainer, and consultant both in North America and Australia. He has lived in Whitehorse since 2017.
