Yukon Bridge Building Contest

Overview

Engineers Yukon sponsors the annual bridge-building competition to help promote the engineering profession in Yukon. This year will be the 25th year of the competition!

This friendly, fun, hands-on competition is free. Different categories ensure that everyone can compete: students in school, families, even adults and company groups. Although the competition takes place in Whitehorse, we encourage participation from Yukon communities as well.

Rules and Forms

You must follow the rules if you want your bridge to be judged and have a chance of winning. The rules appear on the rules checklist. You don’t have to hand in the checklist with your bridge. But because the judges will disqualify your bridge if it does not meet all the checklist requirements, you should check your bridge carefully against the checklist.

You should also include a completed narrative form with your bridge. The judges will score your narrative form and it could increase your bridge score by up to 10%.

Note that the rules, rules checklist, and narrative form for the ALL-CAN category are slightly different than those of the other categories. MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT RULES CHECKLIST AND NARRATIVE FORM FOR YOUR CATEGORY.

For categories Grades 3–6, 7–8, 9–12, and OPEN

For ALL-CAN category only
